Holiday happenings bring fun for students & a little cheer for staff

Poly Drive PTA sponsored virtual coding events for students in December. Each grade cohort made a holiday-themed item using STEM techniques. Both online and in-person students participated in the Zoom meet ups.

K-1 had 17 participants led by Letha McDowell. Each participant coded a Christmas tree. Mr. Dimock led 25 second and third grade participants in making a LED Christmas ornament. And Mrs. Caskey assisted 25 fourth and fifth graders in making a binary coded ornament.

Poly Drive PTA decided to spread some holiday cheer to our amazing Poly staff in this challenging year. The PTA, in partnership with Tea City and Cupcakes, gave staff $10 gift cards to Tea City, which included $5 gift matches by Tea City. Forty-six staff and 20 virtual teachers received the holiday gifts. Staff were very appreciative of the gifts, and we appreciate them!
