Poly Drive will celebrate International Walk to School Week with our Annual Walk (and Bike) to School-A-Thon and Walking School Bus! For those who are new to the concept, a walking school bus is a group of students walking to school as a group, under the watch of adults/parents and older students. Younger students are encouraged to “board” the bus at any point along its route to school.

The Poly Drive Walking School Bus will operate in the morning only, Monday, Oct.  6 through Friday, Oct. 10, beginning at the northwest corner of Poly & Hoover at approximately 7:55am. The route will proceed toward campus on the north side of Poly Drive.  Parents who would like to start their own walking school bus on a different route are encouraged to do so. We will have bicycle helmets available Friday, Oct. 3, at both dismissal times.  Tori Koch will be there to fit any kids in need.

Just like last year, students will also be encouraged to collect pledges from friends and family for each trip or mile they complete during the week. Great prizes and gift cards to sporting goods stores will be awarded to top participants. Classes will also compete with each other for bonus recess periods! Funds raised will support Walk and Bike to School activities all year long.

Log sheets will be sent home the week before the event begins.
